First of all, I'm going to draw in notes using the pencil tool, which you can find by selecting and clicking on up here in the piano roll, and I'm going to use the chord and scale of C major in order to draw in some demo notes. Let's have a look in how we can do this now. You can then use the pen and pencil tools to draw in notes and play them back as if it's being recorded.
Using the piano roll is a great way to create melodies if you don't have access to a MIDI keyboard.
